Gorgoroth - Black Mass DVD on the way!
Norwegian black metal heroes Gorgoroth have been kickin' the can around since the early-90s, the band spewing out its frothy blend of loud-and-angry symphonic metal and anti-religious gangbang over the course of a half-dozen or so albums. The band really grabbed the metal world by the ears with their February 1, 2004 performance in Krakow, Poland, however. Accused by the state authorities of "offending religious feelings" with their pagan lyrical obsessions, Gorgoroth was also investigated for possible animal rights violations, the band using severed (and impaled) sheep's heads as part of its creative, Vikingesque stage set.The music that night is said to have been powerful and unrelenting, and now you can see it for yourself! For the first time on DVD, Gorgoroth's Black Mass presents that infamous Krakow performance in all of its bloody glory, courtesy of Music Video Distributors. With a July 8, 2008 scheduled release date, Black Mass offers up the band's (appropriately) thirteen-song performance from that evening, along with a couple of performances from the 2000 With Full Force Festival in Leipzig. The DVD also features a bunch of nifty bonus stuff, like a band biography and discography, a Gorgoroth photo gallery, desktop images and weblinks. Black Mass might just make a great gift for the lil' demon on your shopping list!
