Mongrel to perform for WM3 benefit!

Formed with the idea to mix old-school hardcore punk with the bleeding edge of heavy metal, Mongrel have been earning a name for themselves through the constant noggin-pounding of their electric live shows. Opening for cross-genre rock heroes like the Misfits, GWAR, the Exploited, Otep, Prong and Mushroomhead, among others, Mongrel has spent better than 70s nights a year blitzing northeastern clubs on their way to eventual stardom.

Recently signed to indie Screaming Ferret Wreckords, that label has reissued Mongrel's debut – Fear, Lies, and Propaganda – which includes the stand-out track "West Memphis Hell," about the West Memphis 3. Putting their money where their mouths are, so to speak, Mongrel will participate in the "3 for the 3" benefit shows, to be held on Friday, May 30th in Kingston, MA; Saturday, May 31st in Ipswich, MA; and Sunday, June 1st, 2008 in Worcester, MA. All three benefit shows are all-ages, reasonably priced at $10 and $12, and proceeds will go to benefit the defense funds of the West Memphis 3. Limited-edition T-shirts will also be available for those wanting to support the cause. Scarecrow Hill and End Of An Era will be performing all three nights along with Mongrel; other bands will also perform on individual days.

Kudos to Mongrel and all these bands for helping right the injustice of the West Memphis 3!
