Black Metal Satanica doc coming to DVD!

The eerie documentary film Black Metal Satanica will be released on DVD by those dark fiends at Music Video Distributors on September 2, 2008. An in-depth look behind the scenes of the Scandinavian black metal scene, this 80-minute documentary film pulls the scab off of the music's mythology of self-mutilation, murder, suicide, church-burning, the desecration of graves and corpses, and all the other gleeful activities engaged in by long-haired, greasepainted Nordic youth.

Beginning with the forebears of the black metal scene, influential bands like Mayhem, Bathory and Immortal, Black Metal Satanica delves into the 11th century Viking lore than informed much of the earliest black metal, bringing the story up to the modern day. The DVD also features music by such eardrum-bashers as Watain, Vreid, Rimsfrost, Mordichrist and others.
