Ascend's Ample Fire Within due May 27th...

Ascend is an eagerly-anticipated collaboration between Gentry Densley (Iceburn, Eagle Twin) and Greg Anderson of Sunn O))) and Goatsnake. The two musicians have crossed paths several times through the years, including touring together during the '90s, their bands at the time (Iceburn & Engine Kid) recording a split LP.

Ascend's Ample Fire Within, the result of this musical collaboration, will be released on May 27th, 2008 by Southern Lord Records. The album will mark a departure for both artists, featuring vocals by Densley and a dark mix of jazz-fusion and tones of experimental and noise music. The album also includes guest shots from the likes of Earth's Steve Moore and Soundgarden's Kim Thayil.
