The Other Side Of Nashville (An Incomplete History of the Music City's Rock Underground) book will be edited by award-winning music journalist Rev. Keith A. Gordon and published by Conspiracy M.E.D.I.A in the summer of 2007. The book will feature a discography of Nashville album and CD releases including album reviews, brief artist biographies and interviews with Nashville rockers past and present. The book will cover thirty years of Nashville's rock music scene and will be illustrated with band photos and pictures of CD and LP covers.
If you are/were a solo artist or member of a band based in Nashville during the time period of 1976 through 2006, we would like to hear from you! To be included in the book, please email the following information to rev.gordon (at) gmail.com or send by regular mail to Nashville Rocks, 35 Montclair Avenue, Batavia NY 14020.
THE INFO WE NEED:
- Your Name/Band Name
- If a band, the names of the band members (and instruments played)
- Time period you/your band was active
- Name and year of album(s) released and format (vinyl, cassette, CD)
- Photograph (if sent by email, TIF or JPG format, 300dpi or better)
- Brief biography (100 words - optional)
- Web site or other relevant contact information
If you would like your LP, CD or DVD considered for review, send a copy along with the above information. We are also interested in borrowing video footage of bands from the time period covered in VHS, Mini-DV or DVD format as well as posters or other local band memorabilia to copy. All video, posters and other memorabilia will be returned to the owner and credit given in the book. We'll keep your CDs, etc for review.
Rev. Gordon is eminently qualified to put together a volume such as The Other Side Of Nashville. With 30+ years experience walking the pop culture beat, Gordon has covered the Nashville rock music scene since the beginning. The former editor of Nashville's Metro music magazine, Gordon has championed Nashville artists in national and international publications and has contributed reviews and interviews of local rockers to such publications as the Nashville Scene, High Times, Nashville Intelligence Report and Bone music magazine, among many others. For the past seven years, Gordon has been the editor of the Alt.Culture.Guide music webzine and the publisher of several music books with Nashville's Anthem Pop/Kult Publishing.
